Big Freeze and the Baby

Hello all! Sorry for the long delay. I'm lazy.

Getting the small talk out of the way, here are some pictures for those who aren't used to cold weather. While it hasn't snowed very much here in New York, we've had some very cold temperatures lately, as has the rest of the Midwest and Northeast. The temps have been averaging around 25F, or -5C. The windchills have been about 0F, or -14C. Pretty chilly stuff! Here on campus we have a small waterfall and a garden pond (with carp). Both waterfalls are freezing in interesting ways. I have no idea how those carp are doing. They've probably turned to frozen fish-sticks at the moment. Hopefully they'll thaw out ok come spring!
On a possibly more interesting note, here are the latest pics of the baby and my baby-momma! These are of everyone 17 weeks into the incubation of my spawn.
You don't have to be a genius to see what's what. For those who don't already know, an ultra-sound is really just a cross-section, or slice of the baby...it's not able to see in 3D. That's why he/she doesn't have any arms or legs in the picture. If you were to adjust it to see limbs, the view of the torso and head would not be nearly as good. Notice, you can see my baby's beautiful spine and thick skull!! Can I see some teeth in the bottom picture?!? Not really, but it kinda looks like it, to me. They tell me the baby's about 15cm, or the size of a runt guinea pig.

And here's a picture of Jackie, taken earlier this evening:
Jackie tells me she can feel the baby "fluttering" around inside. Fun stuff! I hugged her the other day, and it was really fun to feel her expanding little belly starting to get in the way.

Thanks for reading!

You hugged your wife "the other day"? One of those rare twice a week events, is it?

No, seriously, I'm pleased to read your update and delighted that everything is going well!

Hi Jeremy-sensei

Glad to see updated your blog again. We haven't had snow yet. And it's been warm these days. New York seems cold. So,is your wife full of beans? Does she have morning sickness? My wife had it pretty badly. Tell her to take care of herself and the baby!

See ya,

Sgt.Saunders

Hi Jeremy!

I checked out your blog after seeing the link on the FFI alumni updates, and wanted to wish you and Jackie congrats on the baby! We had a little boy, Jack, last April and it has been a blast! Totally different and life-changing, but an amazing experience. Enjoy this time and all the wonderful things it brings.

Anyway, it was fun looking at your blog - it seems like you guys have had some really neat experiences and your photos were great!

We have a blog with some pictures of Jack on it, so feel free to check it out when you get a minute.

take care,
Kelle
